2013 Algal Biotechnology Symposium

The 2013 Algal Biotechnology Symposium aims to connect researchers, stakeholders and other members of the algal research community. This will be achieved by enabling doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers, academics and biotechnology companies to participate in a lively programme of talks and discussion.

The one-day symposium will consist of 10 talks given by internationally recognised researchers and industrial practitioners based mainly in the UK, all of whom have made and continue to make a strong impact on the algae community. There will also be the opportunity for doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers to present a 15 minute talk or poster to showcase work currently being conducted by industry and academia. Prizes will be given for the best contributed talk and poster.

In addition, there will be the opportunity to engage in a tour of the EnAlgae photobioreactor in the Botanic Gardens, Cambridge.

This event is organised by the Department of Biochemistry (Prof. Chris Howe, Laura Baers and Stephen Rowden) and the Department of Plant Sciences (Prof. Alison Smith, Dr Matt Davey)
